Confidentiality, Immigration Status & Commitment to Anti-Oppression

Documentation Request Policy

At TherapyLuv, we understand that documentation is a critical component of your care. However, we are committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in how we document and share information. Please note the following regarding documentation requests:

  • Requests for documentation will only be fulfilled when accompanied by a signed release of information form provided by the client or their legal guardian.

  • All documentation will be carefully reviewed to ensure it protects your confidentiality and adheres to legal and ethical standards.

  • We do not release information to third parties without explicit consent unless legally required to do so (e.g., court orders or mandatory reporting laws).

Confidentiality and Immigration Status

TherapyLuv is committed to protecting your confidentiality. We do not collect, document, or share information related to a client’s immigration status. As part of this commitment:

  • We will not coordinate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or any immigration enforcement agency.

  • We believe that immigration status has no bearing on your access to safe and affirming care.

Commitment to Anti-Oppression

TherapyLuv is an anti-oppressive practice that prioritizes creating a safe, affirming space for all clients, including those who are Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), LGBTQIA+, disabled, neurodivergent, and from other historically marginalized communities. Our practice is rooted in the following principles:

  • Cultural humility and responsiveness: We recognize the unique experiences and systemic barriers faced by clients from diverse communities and tailor our care accordingly.

  • Intersectional care: We respect and honor the complex intersections of identity, including race, gender, sexuality, ability, class, and more.

  • Safety and inclusivity: We strive to create an environment free from discrimination, judgment, or harm, where clients can fully express themselves.

  • Accountability: We continuously evaluate our policies and practices to ensure they align with anti-oppressive values and actively work to dismantle systemic oppression in all forms.

Your Rights as a Client

  • You have the right to confidentiality and privacy in all aspects of your care.

  • You have the right to access services without discrimination based on your identity, background, or circumstances.

  • You have the right to be treated with respect, dignity, and compassion.

If you have questions or concerns about these policies or need support, please contact us at admin@therapyluv.com. We are here to honor your humanity and provide care that is affirming, ethical, and empowering.
